Things They Don’t Tell You About Living in Florida

Geckos.  They are the new house fly.  They get in your house.  They crawl into your shoes.  They just do and you can’t keep them out.

Mobile car washes.  There is a reason they don’t have these up nort’.  Can you imagine calling up a guy when it is 32 degrees out and asking him to come wax and wash your car?  Well, in Florida they do it when it’s 100 degrees!

Lawns.  No one mows their own (except me).  I’m not sure why..in the winter it barely grows and in the summer it is too hot?  Either way, lawn service companies are in abundance in Florida.

Humidity.  I laugh when people from other parts of the country say it is humid there.  AHHH, ever been to Central Florida in the summer?  Do you have two fridges just for storing  food that will get soggy because of the weather?  Does the weather person describe the forecast as “steamy” for weeks in a row?  Do your glasses fog up when you walk outside?

Critters.  All types.  Big, small, mean, harmless, repulsive, itchy.

Cartoon rain.  It is sunny yet it is rainy.  And it rains hard in ONE spot while 5 feet away it is not raining.  Cartoon rain is most common in the summer months.
